FACTS Update/Overview of last meeting

 

·        Status = 90% complete.  Some minor bugs need to be worked out.

·        Testing and evaluation being performed via support SSDS / FCAAS - Powertools.

·        The UCSC is using this time to complete the Millenium upgrades to all computer programs prior to bringing up FACTS  - upgrade complete.

·        The degree program list is now posted to the FACTS system

·        Mr. Michael Lindsey will be the lead computer information technician participating in the Powertools training held in Tampa.  Joining Mr. Lindsey will be Jerome Fitz, Michael Ying from UCSC.  Mr. Kevin Austin or the new hire in the School of General Studies may attend as well.  Mr. Lindsey will provide Mr. Mitchell with a trip report upon return.

 

Connectivity

·        All areas involved in the FACTS project (Housing, Student Activities, Student Health, etc.) should be in the process of identifying devices, which can be dedicated to use for FACTS. 

·        Housing in particular may want to consider locating several devices in each dorm lounge area for student use.
