FACTS Update/Overview of last meeting

 

We are on schedule.  Fine tuning is in progress.  Actual run through of

FAMU FACTS is tentatively projected for September 7-11.

 

·        September 28, 1999 is the FAMU FACTS implementation date

·        All areas should coordinate FACTS calendar drafts with the Tech Support team in the UCSC

·        Mike Lindsey is assigned to the PIN verification system.  Specific details of the systems structure are confidential and will not be released to anyone who is not authorized.

·        Carla Knight is assigned to SASS program input.  M. Lindsey is assigned to support her efforts.

·        The communications server is on the way.  Anticipated arrival is September 7, 1999.

·        A PowerTools Training session, sponsored by the Florida Center for Advising and Academic Support (FCAAS), will be held on the campus of the University of South Florida.  The dates are September 1, 29th, October 20 and November 3.  All areas involved in the FACTS project should strongly consider sending an area representative to one of these sessions.

·        The new hire for the FACTS position has not been filled.  Mr. Lindsey will continue to serve in that capacity until further notice. 

·        The web site address has been established for FAMU FACTS.  The site address is facts@famu.edu.

 

Miscellaneous

·        Any FAMU FACTS member who does not have access to email and/or fax will be given a copy of the minutes on diskette for their viewing and printing.

·        C. Knight will send a copy of the FACTS powerpoint presentation to Mr. Lindsey.  The presentation was made at the opening session of the Faculty Pre Planning Workshop.  Mr. Marvin Johnson and Ms. C. Knight presented.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, 10am in the UCSC lab.
